Northwest Territories Equitable Sports Access (NTESA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making sports more accessible and inclusive for everyone in the Northwest Territories. We help remove barriers so that people of all backgrounds can participate, connect, and enjoy the benefits of recreation. Through financial support, equipment, mentorship, and community partnerships, we create opportunities for more people to get involved in sports.

Current Initiatives
Sport Involvement
NTESA connects youth with sport mentors and hosts teams in Yellowknife's sport leagues, fostering teamwork and skill development. We also organize welcoming and accessible pop-up sport events.

Partnerships
Working with other organizations and community partners is key to what we do.
In summer 2025, we've partnered with the NWT Literacy Council and Ecology North to offer sports during planned garden parties at Yellowknife-based school gardens.
Volunteerism
We need caring volunteers to support more equitable sport access. Volunteers help shape our sports programs and create a fun, welcoming space for everyone.
Volunteering is a fun way to meet other caring volunteers and develop meaningful relationships. Reaching out at admin@ntesa.ca.
Financial Support
We offer individual sponsorships of up to $250 per person to access sports. We have limited resources and this is provided on a first come first serve basis, as funds are available. We make it as easy to access as we can. More info here.
